The 2026 flagship event combines an afternoon public lecture and symposium with an evening gala dinner and awards programme.

On behalf of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Manchester (UK) Branch, we are delighted to welcome members, partners, academics, industry leaders and guests to a day of insight, professional connection and recognition.

Prof. Akilu Yunusa-Kaltungo

PHD · FiMechE · FHEA · CENG

Prof. Akilu Yunusa-Kaltungo is a Professor and Chair in Reliability Engineering and Safety Management at The University of Manchester. He has extensive industrial leadership experience spanning maintenance, reliability, occupational safety, training and operational improvement.

His applied research and teaching focus on sustainable asset integrity, process reliability, condition monitoring, safety and the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industrial processes. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Engr. Dr. Obuks A. Ejohwomu

PhD · FNSE · FHEA · MNIEE

Dr. Obuks Ejohwomu is Reader in Project Management and Head of Admissions in the School of Engineering at The University of Manchester. He is also the founder of the Nudge Special Interest Group and leads research concerned with the future sustainable built environment.

His work spans decarbonised projects, indoor and outdoor air-quality monitoring, occupational health and safety, digitalisation and project delivery. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Higher Education Academy, and has received recognition for his contributions to project-management education and environmental sustainability.
